Simply The Best

Congratulations to Mary Schmidt who was selected as this year’s recipient of the Simply The Best Award.  Each year staff are asked to nominate coworkers who provide outstanding support and leadership in providing direct care.  Mary has been with ABS for 17 years.  She has held many different positions during those years.  Most recently she has transitioned into the role of Residential

Supervisor where she has gone above and beyond to provide opportunities for enriched lives for the people she supports.  Mary’s coworkers describe her as very patient, understanding, and an active listener to the wants and needs of the people she supports.  Mary shines at finding new learning experiences and developing creative opportunities to help people build independence.  Mary has a great relationship and trust with the people she supports, their families, and her coworkers.  She is someone that others look up to and she is always there to lend a hand or listening ear.  For these reasons and too many more to list, we recognize Mary Schmidt as the 2024 ABS Simply the Best recipient.
