Certified Employment Support Professionals

Ability Building Services is proud to announce that all 7 Employment Specialists have achieved the status of Certified Employment Support Professionals (CESP) through the Association of People Supporting Employment (APSE). In order to achieve this national certification the Employment Specialist must have sufficient knowledge to provide integrated employment services to people with a variety of disabilities, been employed in the field for one year; and must pass the National APSE examination. There are many sections to the testing including: ADA laws, Social Security benefits, customized employment practices, ethical standards and guidelines for advocating for employment of all people. Once certified the Employment Specialist must maintain their  certification through continuing education in the field of employment for people with disabilities. ABS Certified Employment Specialist’s believe that all people can work in today’s labor force.  Jobs can be customized by looking at the person’s strengths and abilities. Congratulations to Margaret Stewart, Jill Wermers, Angela Shuff, Jane Wuestewald, Jessine Dutcher, Emily Barta and Heather Budihas for all of your hard work and dedication to employment for all people.
