Simply the Best

Each year ABS participates in a state wide recognition of direct support works called Simply the Best.  DSPs are nominated by their coworkers for outstanding work in the direct support field.  Christie Zimmerman was chosen as this year’s recipient.  Christie is a residential Direct Support Professional Supervisor at Ability Building Services.  She has worked for ABS for five years.  Christie goes above and beyond her job requirements every day. She comes in early, stays late and works overtime if needed to ensure that the people she supports are receiving the best possible services. She is extremely dedicated to finding the most effective strategies for improving quality of life for all people receiving services at ABS. Christie never hesitates to brainstorm ideas with her coworkers who may be struggling to find a solution and always provides a fresh creative perspective. Christie is well respected by her peers and always ensures that the work environment is positive, productive, and supportive. Christie is a strong advocate and role model for the people she supports and others around her. These are just some of the reasons why Christie Zimmerman is ABS’s 2017 Simply the Best recipient.
